Douglas, who reached the 400 metres semifinal at Barcelona last summer, clocked 47.97 seconds to finish narrowly behind American Andrew Valmon (47.74) and Frenchman Olivier Noirot (47.82).

Douglas and triple jumper Brian Wellman are expected to be Bermuda's entrants at the indoor Worlds, which will be held at the Toronto SkyDome from March 12-14.
