Bermuda Football Association president Mr. Charlie Marshall said that the association was suffering because of supporters who did not pay.

But Devonshire Colts fan Mr. Wayne Douglas was furious that he was moved on by Police when he was trying to watch the big game.

Mr. Douglas was still shaken by the incident when he spoke to The Royal Gazette yesterday.

He said he could not afford to get into the National Stadium for his team's clash with Boulevard because he is unemployed. After standing on the hill overlooking the ground for World Cup matches, he believed he was in a public space.

But four Policemen told him they had been instructed by the BFA to move the spectators on.

He said he had watched many Colts' home games from outside the ground. "When the biggest game of the season comes along I am told I cannot watch it,'' he said.

But Mr. Marshall said he fully supported the Police action.

"We have instructed Police officers outside the ground to move people off the Government property at the north of the ground, which is part of Bermuda College,'' he said. "These people are trespassing on what is part of the National Sports complex. We have had problems over there with people climbing over the fence. In fact, there is a hole in the fence which was made allowing people to crawl in for free.'' "These people complain but its only through their contributions that we are able to put on football and other sporting events in this Country. Without their money it would be impossible.''
