Hamilton Harriers scurried home first in the End-to-End Relay, winning in a time of two hours, six minutes and 54 seconds.
Trudging home next (2:06:54) was the over-40 bunch representing the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club containing the likes of George Sutherland, Jim Butterfield, Harry Patchett, Eddie Davies and Jeremy Ball.
Swan's Running Club (2:08:17) ended up third after Ray Swan, running the last leg, was overhauled by MAAC Masters' Ball as they headed towards the finish at Daniel's Head.
The Harriers controlled from start to finish with Gary Taylor giving them the early lead coming out of St. George's for the the opening two-and-a-half-mile leg. Richard Bruton then took over before handing off to Neil Halliday, followed by Neil De Ste Croix and Steve Donnelly, who completed the impressive victory.
Winning the Female Division in relatively easy fashion were the MAAC Ladies team of Margaret Young, Chris Sommerville, Debbie Butterfield, Jane Christie and Peggy Couper. They were never threatened and beat the next female team by over 11 minutes.
The event was well attended with 20 teams (100 runners) starting the 26-mile jaunt.
Race director Ian Greatorex deemed the event a success with all the various clubs contributing to its smooth running.
SOCCER SOC Bermuda's national team will train this evening, tomorrow and Wednesday at Warwick Academy School field between 6.00 and 8.00 in preparation of the upcoming second leg World Cup qualifying tie in Haiti.
The Bermuda squad will leave for Haiti next Thursday.
