Hank, Bill hold on for four ball victory
propelled them to the Bermuda Four Ball Championship at Port Royal yesterday.
The local pair were able to cruise in the final round with an even-par 71 for a four-round total of 280 as they won by a stroke from Americans Dan Rourke and Dick Connors.
The former champions made a spirited challenge yesterday with a 67 but they had left it too little too late. Finishing a further stroke back on 282 were Ron Royer and Roger Ubaudi who closed with a 69.
Low net winners were Adrian Crockwell and Dennis Lowe on 266.
The women's title went to Bermuda's Judithanne Astwood and American Joan Connors who won by three strokes from Shirley Wildi and former Bermuda resident Ginette Spinucci.
Astwood and Connors shot 70 yesterday to finish on 210. Third place went to Madeline Joell and Janina Jacobs on 213.
Low net winners were Mary Ellen Horton and Jan Bath on 206.
