struck by a car last December, expects to make a full recovery.

Hudson, 46, who played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke, was married in Bermuda last summer, having coached here regularly in recent years.

He underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain and suffered a shattered pelvis in the accident. He was unconscious for four weeks.

His wife Ann told the Daily Mirror newspaper yesterday that many times doctors thought he would not survive.

"Three months ago they told me that he wouldn't make it, but I always knew he wouldn't die. He's such a fighter,'' she said. "But no-one could tell me if he had been brain damaged or if he would ever walk again.'' Hudson was moved out of intensive care three weeks ago and is undergoing intensive therapy.
