Kim vaults into second

places and finish second behind American Dina Taylor in the Girls Division of the Ping Myrtle Beach Junior Classic in South Carolina yesterday.

Marshall captured the low round award on account of her score being the best of the 54-hole tournament. She totalled 228 and came within three strokes of overnight leader Taylor, who shot a 76. However, the gulf created by an opening round 79 proved insurmountable.

Floridian Kim Little took third spot after carding a 77 for a three-round total of 230. Little was two strokes ahead of fourth place Shauna Estes, who led after the first round.

Estes, the hometown favourite, continued her downward spiral which saw her go from a 74 the first day, to a 78 on Wednesday and an 80 yesterday for a 232 total.

Marshall heads to Flint, Michigan, today in anticipation of competing in the Great Lakes Buick event set to start Monday.
