Marshall makes her mark on ladies' tour
the US Futures Tour, considered a major stepping stone towards qualification for the LPGA Tour.
Since turning professional earlier this year, the former Wake Forest University star has finished in the money in all three Futures Tour tournaments in which she has competed.
And her best performance came over the weekend when she fired rounds of 73, 70 and 72 for a one-under-par total of 215 at the Quail Heights Futures Classic in Lake City, Florida.
Marshall finished tied for third in a field of 138 and picked up a cheque for $1800, her biggest yet. In earlier events, she pocketed $115 and $390.
The Quail Heights tournament was won by Connecticut's Heather Daly-Donofrio who carded an eight-under-par 208 (71-68-69).
Today Marshall is in Virginia where she tees off in the first round of the Central Fidelity Futures Classic at the London Downs Golf Club in Forest.
Thunder and lightning combined with torrential rain forced organisers to cancel yesterday's second round of the Bermuda Men's Seniors Championship at Belmont.
And Bermuda Golf Association secretary Tom Smith later confirmed that the event had been reduced to 36 holes with the final round scheduled today.
Just five players managed to complete their rounds yesterday with visiting American Clark McKenzie firing an impressive two-over-par 72, but after waiting in vain until 2.00 p.m for an improvement in the weather, all completed scores were declared null and void.
Noel Van Putten is the current leader after an opening round of 74 -- one shot clear of McKenzie and fellow American Stanton Ayer.
KIM MARSHALL -- third place finish at the Quail Heights Futures Classic in Florida over the weekend.
