More than 100 bowlers filled Warwick Lanes last Tuesday, continuing their attempts to qualify for the American Airlines Bowling Spectacular.
Boosting the prize fund after five weeks to $5,451, 51 bowlers have already managed half of the requirements -- placing in the top 15 in one of the weekly tournaments -- to enter the finals. The other half of the requirement is that they must bowl in a minimum of six of the nine weekly tournaments.
Many will fulfil that requirement next week.
Kevin Swan was last week's top bowler, rolling a 707 handicap series for the first place prize and also claiming a high scratch game with his 223.
Other handicap prize winners were Anthony Zuill (676), Walter Wilson (674), Marsha Carey (662), Keith Wilson (660), Joshua Bento (657), Josie Richardson (653), Beulah White (649), Edna-Mae Tuzo (648) and Wayne Robinsons (647).
Zuill and Harry Mitchell won the two high handicap games. The remaining scratch games were won by June Pitt (224) and Conrad Lister (245) while David Abraham won the high series scratch prize with a 641.
