Never-say-die Wolves fall short

Wolves made a spirited fightback after trailing 3-0 at the half, but just fell short of pulling off a dramatic recovery against Second Division leaders Vasco in this game at Devonshire Rec. field.

Vasco went ahead early through a goal by left-back Earl Richardson and were two goals up shortly afterward when Carl Ainscough netted. Centre-half Donovan Livingston then got the third 10 minutes before the half when he converted a penalty.

Wolves' great fighting spirit earned them a goal after 66 minutes when substitute Vincent Whitter scored after Marlon Lindsay created the opening.

Wolves made it a one-goal game three minutes later when Wainwright sensationally dribbled by three defenders and hammered the ball home from an angle on the right.

Somerset Eagles 6, Port Royal 5 Somerset Eagles made the most dramatic recovery of the season when they came from behind 5-2 with 10 minutes left to pull of an astonishing victory at White Hill field. And they did it with 10 men after losing Terrence Christopher in the first half when he was sent off by referee Clarence Burrows.

Clinarke Dill scored a hat-trick for Port Royal while Joe Rodriques and Nakia Smith got the others. Dion Minors spearheaded Eagles with a hat-trick while Stevie Riley netted twice and Anthony Basden once.

Paget 4, Devonshire Cougars 1 Paget upset Cougars at Devonshire Rec. field where the home team was forced to play the final 30 minutes with 10 men after James Raynor was sent off by referee Gregory Simons for a rough tackle on the goalkeeper. Paget led 3-1 at the half on goals by Devaughn Dill after five minutes, Duane Gibbons after 11 minutes and Shawn Stovell five minutes before the break. Dwayne Bean scored for Cougars after 15 minutes.

The lone goal in the second half was scored by Aaron Anderson after 46 minutes.

Social Club 2, Southampton 5 Not even the sending-off of Donald Hall for swearing at a linesman in the 75th minute when the score was 3-2 could knock Southampton Rangers off their stride as they notched two goals in the last four minutes to complete this big win at PHC Stadium.

Troy Darrell had given Social Club the lead in the 19th minute with his eighth goal of the season only to see college student Craig Darrell equalise six minutes later.

Troy Saunders put Social Club back in front in the 27th minute before Rangers hit their second equaliser in the 31st minute through Alfred Wolffe.

The score stood at 2-2 at the half but 10 minutes into the second half Rangers opened the Social Club defence again to take the lead for the first time, this time through Ascento Russell.

College student Janeiro Tucker made it 4-2 four minutes from the end before Gary Williams scored the fifth a minute later.

BAA 0, Prospect 0 Clevelyn Crichlow of BAA missed one of the best chances of the match in the early minutes of the second half as these two teams played to a goalless stalemate at Southampton Oval.
