evening with a full slate of five matches scheduled in the Bank of Butterfield League.

Four new teams have been added to the mixture since last season, more than making up for the departure of three clubs.

Recently accepted to the BTTA were three sides from Bermuda Telephone Company, along with Devonshire Wanderers, expected to be made up of many former players of West Indian Association (WIA), raising the total number of sides by one from last season to 11.

WIA, Hamilton Parish and Christian Rovers each decided to call it quits.

The BTTA's domestic programme is due to include 22 league dates with the final of those set for March 18, 1997.

Other events on the calendar include: Island Satellite Systems Youth Tournament, with boys and girls aged 9-19 separated into age groups (November 23); Closed Championships (February 1); Masters Open (March 1); International Sports Shop Challenge (March 25); Top 10 Round Robin (March 29); BTTA East v West Charity Match (April 1); Bermuda Open Championships (April 5).

Meanwhile, the BTTA also hope to send two or three teams to the United States Open Team Championships, which get underway on November 27 in Detroit, Michigan.

Due to arrive to help prepare the squad early next month is coach Francois Ternier, father of top local female player Monique Ternier.

Ternier will also be available to coach in local schools, clubs and other organisations throughout the Island on a first contact basis. Those interested should call Mansfield Smith (297-0518 after 5.30 p.m.).

Tuesday's schedule: Telco III v Telco I, Elliott School; Wolves I v Prison Officers, Elliott School; Eastern Stars v Social Club, St. George's Cricket Club; Old Colony Club v Wolves II, Old Colony Club; BPSA v Devonshire Wanderers, BPSA. All matches start at 7.30 p.m.
