No stopping Rangers

For the second time this season Boulevard squandered a 1-0 half-time lead as visitors Southampton Rangers made it three wins in a row at St. David's.

Boulevard broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Rodney Bascome scored from a goalmouth scramble which came after a free kick had been awarded. Randy Darrell in the Rangers goal appeared to gather the ball but then lost it. And the ball then bounced around in the box before Bascome pounced to score from eight yards.

That lead held up until the 55th minute when veteran midfielder Olin Jones got on the end of a pass into the box and scored with a half volley into the far top corner from about 15 yards.

Ascento Russell took his tally to five in three games when he scored the Rangers winner in the 73rd minute, gaining possession on the left side of the penalty box as a defender miskicked and scoring with a low shot into the corner that goalkeeper Mitchell Steede couldn't keep out.

There were four bookings in the match: Jason Raynor of Rangers in the first half for a foul on Stevie Wade, then Wade himself in the 48th minute for tripping Kwame Tucker. Defenders Ryan Belboda (Rangers) and Leroy Stevens (Boulevard) were also cautioned, Belboda for a foul on Wade and Stevens for retaliating after being fouled by substitute Dawud Tucker.

The win keeps Rangers on top with a superior goal difference over Vasco.
