Motocross Nationals at Coney Island.

On a day when some former leaders were not on the track to combat challenges from their closest rivals, Craig Panchaud enjoyed a hat-trick of triumphs in the 125 B class and now holds a comfortable 43 point lead over Jamel Hassell who did not show and consequently relinquished the top spot.

Wentworth Tucker was second to Panchaud on the day by finishing with two seconds and a third. He is now threatening Hassell's second place overall.

Treadwell Nesbitt could only ride one race after a first moto flat couldn't be repaired.

Meanwhile, Cavon Perinchief's four-week spell at the top of the 125 C class has ended after a practice day crash left him with a broken wrist that has put him out of action for the rest of the season.

Enwar Hunt is the new points leader. Like Panchaud, Hunt also achieved a hat-trick of wins.

Ashley Simmons was second once again with three second-place finishes while Graham Sutherland matched his best points race finish of third, beating Mark Burrows, who took part in only two motos.

The 80cc race proved entertaining with the top B riders Garry Cann and Loronzo Burch under pressure from Zico Majors in the 80cc. Cann was first in the 80 B with two wins, the third going to Burch after Cann was late starting due to a faulty plug.

Majors made it eight wins in a row and moved up to third behind Melonie Munro and points leader Gary Blackwell.

Chad Sutherland won the 65cc class with two wins and a third. Tullio Escolastica finished first in the last race to end up second while Jaircybio Rattery put in two thirds for third overall with an improving Jonte Smith fourth.

Craig Smith claimed his first hat-trick of wins in the 50cc but Luke Parker lost a close race for first by half a wheel to Smith to finish second while Kenshae Wilson was third.

Next race day is this Sunday.
