Top seed Frost chases clean sweep
singles and doubles titles at the Bermuda Open table tennis championships at Elliott Primary gym tomorrow.
Frost has already clinched the Bermuda Closed Championship, beating Dexter Smith in February, and the Superior Players Round Robin Tournament. And with Smith currently with the national cricket team in Malaysia, Frost will be the hot favourite for two, possibly three, titles this weekend.
He is the defending champion and top seed in the men's singles as well as defending champion and top seed (with Dave Waltham) in the men's doubles.
Frost and Barbara Lambert are ranked number two in the mixed doubles.
The biggest threats to Frost in the singles will come from Dennis Pearman, Waltham, Myron Piper, Rawle Frederick and Mike Lindo, the second through sixth seeds.
All the seeded players will receive first round byes, with Frost and Waltham also getting a first round bye in the men's doubles. Frederick and Piper are the number two seeds and Lindo/Pearman are ranked third.
Monique Ternier will play in both the men's singles and women's singles round-robin.
On Tuesday night at BPSA the West defeated defending champions East 7-3 in their annual charity match.
