Vasco in hot water
against Prospect after allegedly using two ineligible players in the game.
Their opponents have lodged an appeal to the Bermuda Football Association on grounds that Gerald Sims and Scott Morton were allowed to play despite the fact the neither had an ID card for the game, which is mandatory.
"We feel our claim is justified because we were penalised for the same thing a year ago in our opening game against Wolves,'' said Prospect coach Vance Brown whose team was beaten 3-2.
"There cannot be rules for one team and not another, we abided by the rule and now they have to,'' he added.
The by-laws of the BFA state that a player cannot play without an ID card unless the BFA's administrator has informed the referee he is allowed to because of "unusual'' circumstances.
Yesterday BFA administrator Joe L. Brown said that he had never been approached about the matter and doubted whether anyone else from his office had been contacted.
Vasco presently lead Southampton by one point.
