5-4 in the final of the Bermuda International Pool League tournament at Vasco

A total of 40 players entered the tournament and the early rounds saw some major upsets with Gary Bascome and Mike Zimmerman, currently placed second and third in the league, falling to Paul Mathias and Wayne Adams respectively. In the semi-finals, Parsons got past Mark O'Connor 3-2 while Walker beat Tony Roveredo 3-1.

The final saw Parsons take 2-0 and 4-2 leads in the first-to-five match before Walker fought back to tie it each time. Parsons broke in the deciding frame and was within two balls of the championship. But he missed on a long 11-ball to the top pocket, allowing Walker the opportunity to run the table.
