SCHOOLS SOCCER SOC Berkeley Institute appear set to sweep all three divisions -- Junior, Intermediate and Senior -- as the Secondary School soccer competition winds toward its conclusion.
The Pembroke school's Junior side have gone undefeated in four league matches thus far to head surprising Northlands by three points, with Whitney Institute third, a further two points adrift.
A similar scenario occurs in the Intermediate Division, as Berkeley possess five wins in as many matches. Warwick Secondary stand second and Whitney third.
Things are much closer among the seniors as Warwick have put the heat on Berkeley and trail by a single point. Whitney also stand a real chance as they trail the latter by three points, but have two matches in hand.
The Knockout Competition has three teams already in the various finals, including Whitney (Juniors), Warwick Secondary (Intermediate) and St.
George's, who shocked Whitney 3-1 in their semifinal match-up.
The finals will be held on January 7 at National Stadium.
TENNIS TEN The Coral Beach and Tennis Club Junior Open Tennis Championship is scheduled to commence on Saturday, December 18 and run through Monday, December 20.
Competition will take place in eight singles categories -- 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, 18 and under, with all involving both males and females.
Entries close today at noon and none will be received without a proper entry form and fee.
DARTS DRT Nationals II played the perfect hosts as they dropped a 4-3 decision to Nationals I in a make-up match on Tuesday night.
The victory propelled Nationals I into first place in the Bermuda Darts Association First Division and lifted John Holder into the league lead with a 7-0 aggregate record at the midway point of the season.
Holder won a close match over William Pickering, now 6-1.
