Bean blasts Village to Trophy triumph
showed himself to be no slouch with the cricket bat either when he stroked an unbeaten 46 to lead North Village to a four wicket win over the `Rest of the World' in the annual match for the Stickers Hendrickson Trophy.

After the Rest were dismissed for 108 in 27.3 of their allotted 30 overs, North Village needed just 23 overs to reach their target.
Noel (Red) Smith was high man for the Rest with 28 while Cal Dill and Frank Morgan both scored 13. No other batsmen reached double figures as 23 extras helped them pass 100.
Mike Levon claimed three for 18 from six overs and Derek Bell two for 25 in five overs.
Village lost their first three wickets on 12 and the fourth with 22 runs on the board before a stand of 52 for the fifth wicket between Bean and captain Cleve Trott (16) got them back in the match. Levon finished not out on 13.
Kim Pitt and Frank Morgan did the early damage, each taking two wickets for the Rest.
The Bermuda Regiment Officer's Mess delivered a sound thrashing to the Warrant Officer's and Sergeant's Mess on Saturday with a six wicket win in the annual cricket match at Shelly Bay field.
A sparkling knock of 77 from opener Wayne Smith and a determined 28 from middle order bat David Napier secured the 117 runs needed for victory in reply to 116 all out posted by the Sergeant's Mess.
It was the second successive win for the Officer's Mess.
Kevin Whorms was the most successful bowler for the Sergeant's Mess as he returned figures of 2-24 off five overs.
For the Sergeant's Mess, middle order bat Terry Fray was the top scorer with 39 including two sixes and two fours.
Napier was the most economical bowler for the Officers with 2-15 off four overs including one maiden. Roddy Moore and John Burchall had figures of 2-25 and 2-20 respectively.
