Cal Rayner netted a goal in each half to lead St. George's to a 4-2 victory over Somerset in their sixth annual Old Boy's Allstar soccer match at Somerset
The victory was only the second for the eastenders with Somerset having won three times and the teams playing to a 1-1 draw on the other occasion. Neither team has managed to win on their home ground to date.
Also among the goals for St. George's were Arthur Tucker and Charlie Fox while the westenders responded with a Mel Roberts penalty and an own goal.
Larry Hunt, one of the organisers, said: "It was one of our finest years as far as the turnout was concerned and we would like to thank the fans for giving their support.'' Following the match several prominent ex-players and others who have contributed to the soccer were honoured and presented with trophies, including Finance Minister Eugene Cox who was a stalwart with Somerset during the 50s.
