Championships held at Bermuda College recently.
One of the most competitive divisions in the event organised by Bermuda Martial Arts Federation was the Pee Wees, where ages ranged from five to seven. Among those excelling were London Steede, who won his five to six year-old group, and Kyoto Burchall, winner of the seven-year-old division.
In the junior division, there were also some outstanding performances turned in by Taurean Philpott, Thomas Caulfield, Zachary Wilson, Gregory DeMello, Paul Franks Jr. and Dominic Butterfield.
Paul Franks Jr. won the junior form black belt division and then went on to compete for the grand championship against the formidable Dominic Butterfield.
Franks was presented with the Harrington Hundreds Grocery Outstanding Junior Athlete Award.
In the adult division, Sifu David Simons won the form black belt over-40 division and adult weapons in the black belt division and also captured the Harrington Hundreds Grocery Outstanding Adult Athlete Award, beating out Nasciemto Daniel and Lesley Ann Cummings.
The awards were presented by Harrington Hundreds Grocery manager Anthony Aquiar.
