thinking, will face the Australians next month.

Missing from last year's ICC Trophy squad are a number of players, including suspended trio Noel Gibbons, Charlie Marshall and Terry Burgess, youngsters Dean Minors and Clay Smith who are in England and Clevie Wade, Dexter Smith, Anthony Edwards and Kenny Phillip, who are either unavailable or have been overlooked.

In fact just four players from the Bermuda team that went to Kenya in early 1994 remain. Albert Steede, who led that team, has been confirmed as captain for the match against Australia on May 14, alongwith the experienced Arnold Manders, Jeff Richardson and Bruce Perinchief.

The squad of 14 includes the returning Ricky Hill and Olin Jones -- the likely openers -- brothers Dexter and Richard Basden of Willow Cuts and Anthony Manders of Western Stars who will be the wicketkeeper in the absence of Minors.

From the recent BCBC team that travelled to Florida, five players, alongwith the captain, have been retained. They are St. George's captain Graham Fox, St.

David's captain and allrounder Lionel Cann, Roger Blades of Police, Clarkie Trott of Bailey's Bay and Hasan Durham of Western Stars who is the other spinner in the squad.

There is also no place in the President's XI squad for their match against the Aussies on May 13 for some of the axed ICC players. That team will be captained by Dexter Basden and also included in the squad of 16 are Blades, Curtis Jackson and Del Hollis of Cleveland and Daniel Caines from the Florida trip.

Getting call-ups based on early season performances are Ritchie Foggo of Warwick who scored two centuries last weekend, Cleon Scotland of Western Stars and Nationals' Jason Lewis who hit 46 in his first match in two years last weekend. Spinner David Adams of St. George's is also named, alongwith Jermaine Outerbridge of Bailey's Bay, Shannon Warner of Somerset, Kwame Tucker and Garry Williams of Southampton Rangers and Anthony Amory of Devonshire.

The St. George's Cup Match XI will play the first match against the Australians and their team is also certain to include some new faces as they have four players either suspended or unavailable from the team which beat Somerset in last year's Cup Match. Ritchie Foggo, a St. Georgian who played in Cup Match under Clarence Parfitt, could force himself into contention for a spot if he gets another good score this weekend, while another batsman pushing for one of the places vacated by the likes of Minors, Marshall and Clay Smith is last year's reserve Cleon Scotland.

The following players have been named by the BCBC to train for the matches against Australia and are asked to confirm their availability by calling the BCBC office at 292-8958: President's XI: Dexter Basden (Willow Cuts), Albert Steede (Western Stars), Curtis Jackson (Cleveland), Shannon Warner (Warner), Jermaine Outerbridge (Bailey's Bay), Kwame Tucker (Southampton), Ritchie Foggo (Warwick), Del Hollis (Cleveland), David Adams (St. George's), Jeff Richardson (Western Stars), Garry Williams (Southampton), Daniel Caines (Warwick), Anthony Amory (Devonshire), Jason Lewis (Nationals), Roger Blades (Police), Cleon Scotland (Western Stars).
