Contracts to be settle after this weekend
respective managers at Rotherham and Walsall on Monday to thrash out new contracts.
Lightbourne, who had been concerned about his future at Walsall after reports last weekend linked manager Kenny Hibbitt to two other clubs, has been informed by the club that they want to re-sign him.
On Monday, Lightbourne will try to reach an agreement with the manager over the terms of his contract. The Bermudian already knows what he will be asking for.
"I've worked out something and I'll try to stick with that,'' said Lightbourne yesterday.
Lightbourne admitted he was relieved to be told that he has a future with the club after a promising first season in which he played over 30 games and scored 10 goals. Walsall struggled in the second half of the season and just failed to win a promotion play-off spot in the Third Division.
"I got a letter stating that they want me here for next season,'' Lightbourne disclosed. "I have a meeting with the manager on Monday.'' Goater, too, will be in to see his manager on Monday to discuss a new contract. He told The Royal Gazette earlier this week that he would be seeking improved terms.
Goater finished the season with 13 goals in 30 matches as Rotherham finished in mid-table in the Second Division.
