Penn Relays in Philadelphia at the weekend.

Couper, who broke the Bermuda national record for the 1500 metres for the second time in two years at the Mt. Sac Relays in California last week, was part of the Stanford University 4x1500m and 4x800m relay squads in Pennsylvania.

On Friday, Couper, Erin Sullivan, Lauren Fleshman and Sally Glynn placed second in the 1500 with a time of 17:37.27. Arkansas won the event in a time of 17:34.63.

Although Stanford's women finished fifth in the 800 relay the next day, they still managed to break the school record, with Couper playing an instrumental role.

The Bermudian ran the opening leg in 2:06.9 and was followed by Lindsay Hyatt (2:07.60), Katie Hotchkiss (2:10.7) and Maurica Carlucci (2:06.9). Their finish time of 8:32.26 was just under four seconds quicker than the previous Stanford mark. Florida won the race in a time of 8:24.25.
