Darts team keep it close

the Caribbean Championships following a series of close matches in Barbados this week. Bahamas lead the title race after beating all of their opponents so far.

Early action this week saw Bermuda fight back to secure a 6-6 draw with defending champions Jamaica before narrowly suffering defeat to Trinidad 7-5.

In the next match, they reversed that score to pip Brazil 7-5.

Terry Cartwright and Liz Hickmott have advanced to the quarter-finals of the ladies' doubles following an impressive 2-0 win over Bahamian favourites Johnson and Nichol.

And Dave Griffin, Vernon Daniels and Jimmy Pratt are all through to the last 32 in the men's singles. Gregor McQueen went out, 1-2, to Jamaican veteran Tenge Brown.

In men's doubles, Pratt and Daniels, and Griffin and McQueen have moved through to the last 16 while in mixed doubles, Hutton and Pratt, and Hickmott and Griffin are just one win away from the quarter-finals.

Cartwright is still alive in the ladies' singles and still to come is the mixed triples.
