Flood, riding Swizzle Inn, was the top female and seventh overall in an international CCI three-star three-day event in Boekelo which attracted 97 riders representing 16 countries.

It was Flood's first CCI three-star competition.

After a dressage score of 55.6 points the Bermudian moved into 25th place but then a superb cross country ride with 13.6 time penalties and just one rail down in the show jumping propelled her to seventh overall.

Of the 97 starters only 57 completed the three disciplines.

Meanwhile, Bermuda's other two riders, MJ Tumbridge and Tim Collins were less successful.

Tumbridge, on Bermuda Gold, had a run out at the corners which cost her dearly as she finished with 117.25 penalties for 32nd overall.

Collins' top horse Brincador kicked himself just before the dressage and went lame. And then his young horse Bermuda Twist over-jumped the rail and ditch combination, unseating Collins.

He then withdrew so as to be able to take Bermuda Twist along with his latest purchase, Mallory, to the upcoming Lion D'Angers two-star event in France.
