The good news for the Bermuda veteran capped off an exciting four-day period during which he helped Buckhurst to two victories on the weekend with solid all-round performances.

On Saturday, Gibbons hit 80 as Buckhurst scored 168 and then dimissed opponents Haroldwood for 165, the Bermudian taking four for 39. And on Sunday Buckhurst grabbed a one-wicket win in a Sunday League semi-final, dismissing Sawbridgeworth for 228 and then scoring 230-9 with Gibbons hammering an unbeaten 94 and joining number 11 batsman Nick Price in a crucial tenth-wicket stand worth 87.

Victory over Sawbridgeworth put Buckhurst in today's final which is scheduled for The Oval against Brookweald. It will mark Buckhurst's first appearance in a final in 11 seasons.
