Harness racing
the only double winner in a competitive harness racing programme at Vesey Street.
Driven by David Lopes, she came from behind to win both times, taking the second heat in 1:10.3 and thus moving up to the next time bar.
Lopes enjoyed three wins, as did Nick DeCosta who finished first with Brittany Gold and Grand Shady and then drove the veteran Nateway to a come-from-behind dead heat with L/A Ermatime, driven by Lopes.
The two-year-old Bermuda-bred filly Ponder Dawn continued to improve, winning her second heat in the 1:13.3 and slower time bar in an impressive 1:11.3.
Ponder Dawn is owned by Rayclan and has made steady progess under trainer/driver Michael Roberts.
Catch A Fire, driven by Derrick Seymour won the first heat of the 1:07.2-1:09 time bar in 1:07. He has now qualified for the season-ending Champion of Champions and also has one leg in the Free For All.
Racing continues on Sunday when ponies and drivers will have their last chance to qualify for the Champion of Champions.
