Harness racing fans were treated to some exciting action on what was the season's penultimate meet at Vesey Street on Sunday.
The only four-pony race had the fans on their feet. It occurred in the A Division of the Junior Free For All when How Quick Time Flies (Murray Terceira) came down the middle of the track to nose out Nateway (Dal Vasconcelos) by one fifth of a second.
In the second heat, Catch a Fire, driven by Derrick Seymour, had to pull out all of the stops to hold off a fast charging LA Erma Time, who was driven by Michael DaCosta. Catch A Fire also won by one fifth of a second.
There were three double winners on the day, including Goldmate driven by Nick DaCosta who leads the drivers' standings.
Ponder Babe, driven and owned by Dan Greenslade, had no problem in beating Miss LL Dane twice.
Samantha Hayward and Eddie the Great pulled off a surprise by winning both ends of the Free For All, beating Grand Shady and Shamrock Five.
