and internationally, with no less than two incoming and one outgoing tour confirmed.

First up will witness the arrival of famed English club Marylebone Cricket Club -- more affectionately known as MCC -- on May 15, with the possibility of local cricket fans being treated to performances from the likes of former Test stars, including Pakistani spinner Abdul Qadir, former Australian captain Alan Border, and one-time West Indies opening batsman Philo Wallace.

However, the real purpose of the visit is to afford the Bermuda national team a final tune-up ahead of the ICC Trophy competition in Canada during June and July.

Seven matches are scheduled -- on May 17, 19, 20, 22, 25, 26, 27 -- although all will not involve the national outfit, but allow other players not yet of international standard to experience high-level cricket.

As mentioned, the ICC Trophy will soon follow, with Charlie Marshall set to lead Bermuda northward with the goal of winning the event that features all of the associate member countries in a two phase round-robin competition of one-day matches.

Bermuda is seeded fourth in Group B behind the likes of Denmark, Ireland, and Hong Kong, with Nepal, Papua New Guinea and United States also included.

The top three teams emerging from the ICC Trophy will go on to contest the World Cup in 2002, which brings in all the certified international one-day countries such as West Indies, Australia, England and South Africa.

Bermuda's best-ever finish in the ICC occurred in Leicester, England, back in 1982, when they lost in the final to Zimbabwe by five wickets at Grace Road, this when only the winning team qualified for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Bermuda's future will be on parade from August 5-12, as the Island plays host to the America's Region Under-19 tournament, which will send the winners to the Under-19 World Cup next year in New Zealand, where India will enter as the defending champions.

Among the teams involved in the regional competition will be United States, Canada, Argentina, Cayman islands and a combined Bahamas/Belize/Panama outfit.
