Meanwhile, Sunday witnessed the first ever hockey "Cup Match'' where East played West in the A and B categories.
The inaugural B fixture saw the East target West goalkeeper Adrienne Cotterill -- named Most Valuable Player for the match -- with a barrage of shots only to find the 'keeper in immaculate form and a 0-0 tie resulted.
A penalty shoot-out entailed which the West won by a 4-2 margin.
The final A game saw West complete the sweep with a 3-0 triumph over their East rivals with Sarah Northcott scoring twice and Caroline Black once. Joanne Bielby walked away with the MVP.

Organisers have announced that the trial dates are set for December 11 at 1 p.m. and December 12 at 10 a.m. with both trials scheduled for National Stadium. Primary and Secondary School participants are invited as well as adults.
Primary and Secondary School athletes are particularly encouraged to enter as special awards will be presented for the winners of each of the two groups.
Last year there were just over 250 overall participants and organisers expect another good response from the public this year.
POOL POO Robin Hood I remains the only undefeated team in the league following their 185-177 win over Swinging Doors I. Freya Robinson solidified her lead as top female player with 42 points and Anthony White scored 41 to lead Hood. Gary Bascome made a 50 in a losing cause for Doors.
Kyle Thompson and Stephen Roberts each scored 41 points as Robin Hood II maintained third place with a 197-175 win over Queens Club. Sandy Sandhu scored 43 for Queens.
Cal Burgess and David O'Brien both had 50's to lead Hamilton Parish in a one-sided 234-137 victory over War Vets I. War Vets won only five of the 25 games played.
Gaspar Oliveira's 50 led Vasco I to a comfortable 206-164 win against Vasco III. Manuel Furtado made 45 for Vasco III.
