Caribbean Championships.

The squad, coached by Nigel Pichery and Wes Scraders, will compete against the hosts, Trinidad, Puerto Rico and Venezuela between April 9 and 12 in a trip planned as preparation for the CAC Games in August.

Those Games are scheduled to take place in Venezuela, but the hockey may be transferred to nearby Trinidad because it is thought fields might not be ready in time.

Manager Eva-Jean Darrell said: "The team is a fairly young one with a few veterans. They have been training hard since September last year with early morning sessions at the National Sports Club and Saltus pool and the gym, combined with field work at Nationals on Tuesday and Saturday evenings.

"They have also done floor work at Stonington College to try to get a feel for astro-turf.'' The 15-man squad leave for the Caribbean on April 7 and return to Bermuda on April 13.

Full squad: Kirk Edmunds, Stanley Lee, Manny Faria, Simon Van De Weg, Mark Ray, Donald Madeiros, Mark Weddon, Justin Freisenbruch, Bert Rodney, Justin Barritt, Scott DeCosta, Stephen Troake, Stephen Moreton, Kevin Hill, Jason Dennis.
