Hood sinks cup holders wanderers

on Saturday, but none would be as excited as Robin Hood who knocked off favourites and defending champions BAA Wanderers.

A goal on either side of the half by Ray Morrison and Des Minors were enough to knock the reigning champs off their pedestal, whose foundation had looked shaky lately as they encountered a bad patch.

An exciting derby match at the west end saw Island Rangers shake off the doldrums long enough to down Somerset Extros 2-1 with a Michael Bremar penalty midway through the second half deciding things. This came after Extros' Jerry Lynn Simons had needlessly fouled Keith Bremar in the area.

Keith Bremar had scored earlier to give Rangers the lead before Radell Tankard equalised before the break.

Lobster Pot continued on their miserable run that has seen them not taste victory since November 23 going down 4-2 against Devonshire Colts All-Stars.

Jeff Richardson (two), James Tweed and Lynn Virgil did the damage for All-Stars while Simon Turner and David Marchant (penalty) replied for Pot.

In the other tie Forties plundered Fire Services for three goals without reply.

Finding the target were Roy Fellowes, Leon Bascome and Andre Godfrey.

Meanwhile, the Alliance Division KO witnessed several high-scoring affairs with PHC and St. David's leading the way with a total of seven goals scored in their match.

PHC won 4-3 as Dana Rawlins unleashed for two goals and Mark Smith and Cal Waldron tallied once.

Shea Pitcher, Eugene Crockwell and Garic Swainson did likewise for St.

David's.

Devonshire Colts thumped Southampton 4-2. Theron Smith, Vaughn Smith, Leonard Hypolite and Curtis Azhar scored with Gary Williams and Derrick Lowe making replies for the losers.

St. George's booked their spot on account of a similar 4-2 triumph over Devonshire Cougars. William Richardson was the top gun with two goals while Melvin Simmons and Damien Mendosa had one each.

Carlos Smith and Dwayne Bean scored for Cougars.

Boulevard defeated Somerset by default.

Two Commercial Division make-up games were also played as Spinning Wheel rode a Johnny Nusum penalty to a 1-0 win over KPMG Peat Marwick and Exiles destroyed North Village Rams 6-1.

Antoine Cannonier notched a hat-trick and was given assistance by Alan Johnson, Fred Savage and Marvin Hassan. Ralph Bean had a consolation strike for Rams.
