Hotshot Goater strikes again

couldn't help promotion chasing Manchester City cut Charlton's lead at the top of the English First Division back to four points.

City could only come away from Huddersfield's McAlpine Stadium in West Yorkshire with a 1-1 draw, which left Charlton with a six-point lead at the top.

Goater gave City an underserved equaliser on the stroke of half-time when he capitalised on an error from Ken Monkou -- back from a three month injury lay-off -- to bury the ball past Nico Vaesen for his 22nd goal of the season.

The goal came against the run of play as Huddersfield, who won 1-0 at City's Maine Road ground in November, looked to consolidate their place in the play-off positions by dominating the first half.

Huddersfield's dominance paid off when they took the lead in the 32nd minute through a brilliant curling shot from 25 yards from Dutchman Clyde Wijnhard.
