Juniors pay tribute to Bean

October, will be remembered this week as many of his old friends compete in a tournament named after him.

Several of the Island's top young players are contesting the Craig Bean Memorial Junior Tennis Tournament, which started on Sunday at the Port Royal Tennis Club.

Bean had represented Bermuda in tournaments in the Caribbean and the US and had been called up to the Davis Cup training squad.

Gavin Manders is the top seed in the boys' 18-and-under, with John Masters number two.

Kara Fisher is top seed in the girls' 14-and-under, with Ashley Brooks number two, while in the boys' 12-and-under, Kris Frick is seeded one and Wills Fallon two.

In the boys' 14-and-under category, John Masters is the top seed, while second-seeded Kyle Williams cruised through his first round match 6-0, 6-0 against Spencer Wood.
