Late arrival brings ocean race to end
yesterday morning after nearly five days at sea.
Trilogy's arrival signalled the successful completion of this year's race, which began in Newport last Friday.
Trilogy was the 22nd boat across the line in the Cruising Division, in which five boats retired en route to Bermuda.
Apart from Donnybrook , whose race finished before it began, there was only one other non-finisher in the Racing Division, which boasted 88 finishers.
All three Bermuda boats made it home safely with Eldon Trimingham's Escape the first to arrive on Tuesday, taking seventh place in the Cruising Division.
Nicholas Dill's Dillightful and Colin Couper's Vivace both sailed in on Thursday -- Dill to take 11th place in the Cruising Division, and Couper 87th in the Racing Division, in which he was Bermuda's only representative.
The official prizegiving ceremony takes place at Government House this evening.
