In a battle of past Bermuda champions, both players put on an exhibition of attacking snooker. And the match wasn't decided until the final black was potted.

Unfortunately for Falzone it was he who potted the black only to see his cue ball disappear in-off. The result marked the third time in four years that Falzone had finished this tournament as bridesmaid.

DeSilva made the high break of the tournament with 29. On his way to the final he defeated giant-killing Kyle Thompson, Tony Dawson and newcomer Mike Curry.

Players are reminded that entry forms are now available for the upcoming Bermuda Open Championships at Old Colony Club. Entries close on January 20 at 7.30 p.m. with the draw to be made at OCC at 7.30 p.m. on January 23.

The Berkeley girls defeated Chaffee by one point in the opening game and Mount St. Agnes by three points in game two.

The deciding game against Saltus, who also defeated Chaffee and MSA, saw Berkeley run away to a nine point victory, led by captain Erica Russell.

GOLF GLF Malcolm Burgess fired an even par 70 to take the honours in Saturday's Bermuda Golf Association medal event at Belmont.

Burgess finished four shots ahead of Roger Harvey (74) with Sean Grant a further shot back on 75.

CRICKET CRI Training sessions for Bermuda's Under-19 cricket squad have been scheduled for January 9 and January 11 at Prospect gymnasium (5.00-8.00 p.m.) and on January 15 at Garrison Field (10.00 a.m.-2.00 p.m.).

CHESS CHS The venue for tonight's Active Chess Tournament has been switched from the Chamber of Commerce to the Mariners' Club on Richmond Road.

Four rounds will be played with each game restricted to 40 minutes (20 minutes per player).

Games start at 8.00 p.m. and players should be at the club by 7.45 p.m.
