League leaders Tomp's Towing cooled off a red-hot Stevedoring Services outfit as action continued over the weekend in ther Miller High Life Bowling League.

Services had been on a roll in recent weeks but found Tomps too stiff a proposition as they fell by a one-point margin 151 -141 .

Despite the quality of the teams involved this was a low-scoring contest although Tomp's did post the evening's second high game of 949, largely due to Leroy Ming's 220.

On the mark for Services was Miles Smith who managed a second high individual game 222 and a 590 series.

The night's second match witnessed Team Spirit take a 19-11 decision over Gosling's although the game was closer than the score would indicate.

Quinton Hayward led the winners while Oscar Andrade, on the tails of a pair of deuces, sparked Gosling's.

Signature Card were finally able to field a complete team for their match against New Mix Ups and this coincided with a 22-8 mauling of their unwitting opponents.

Providing the power base for the triumph were Oliver Franks and Clyde Burgess who sent pins tumbling throughout the evening.

In other games Marlboro sprinted to an easy 24-6 shellacking of Franklin Travel, recording the evening's top team game and series on the way -- 979 and 2,750 -- and Tools and Equipment were similarly easy 21-9 victors over Spoilers.
