A large foreign contingent will be involved, with 60 overseas competitors, most hailing from the United States, while Canada is also well represented.

Returning to defend their gross title is the Baltrusol Golf Club, which will be led by former LPGA tour professional Cindy Ferro accompanied by three amateur team members.

Also featured in this four ball, best ball competition will be several other former tour pros, including Marilynn Smith, a co-founder of the women's tour and a recent inductee into the Texas Hall of Fame.

Others are Gloria Ehret, a past winner off the LPGA Championship, and Terry Thompson, who only recently lost her tour card and Kathy Farrer.

Bermuda's lone pro female golfer Janice Symonds is also set to make an appearance for the first time in a while, after being on the shelf with a knee injury.

After today the scene shifts to Castle Harbour for the second round tomorrow, before reverting back to the east end for the final round on Friday.

Anne O'Connor, an amateur golfer from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, scored a hole in one at St. George Golf Club's 15th hole yesterday.

O'Connor is in Bermuda as a member of the Hyannis Golf Club which is taking part in this week's Easter Lily Pro-Am.

Her feat saw her drive from the tee travel 75 yards before finally coming to rest at the bottom of the cup.
