Lobster Pot concede six in first defeat
style on Saturday, crashing to a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Fire Service.
All the Fire goals came in the second half as Lobster Pot, the last unbeaten team in the Commercial League, caved in under the pressure.
Troy Furbert, Robert Thomas, Anthony Wilson, Kenny Bartrum, Carlos Caisey and Brian Fubler tallied for Fire who remain fourth, three points behind Lobster Pot who dropped to third.
BAA Wanderers took the opportunity to climb back into second place in Division A after their 5-0 victory against Prison Officers. Dave Lawler, Martin Jones, Thomas Gribbon and Lawler, again, scored in that order as Wanderers enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 lead at the half. Jones completed the rout in the second half with his second goal of the match.
Robin Hood held onto top spot when two goals from Simon Turner secured their 2-0 win over Vasco Mariners. Turner netted in the 19th and 53rd minutes for Hood who also had defender Derek Scott sent off in the second half for deliberately denying an opponent in a scoring opportunity.
Gary Knight's 64th minute goal stood as the winner as MR Onions moved another place up the tables with a 1-0 win over bottom team Exiles. Onions went ahead of North Village Rams whose match with PHC Raiders was postponed.
St. George's All-Stars were another team feeling the effects of too much turkey and cassava pie over Christmas as they went down 3-2 to bottom team in Division B, Bermuda Pest Control. As a result, St. George's were replaced in first place by the other All-Stars, Devonshire, who enjoyed a 6-2 win over Devonshire Lions.
Dale Thompson gave St. George's an early lead before Pest Control turned it around to 2-1. Cal Rayner then made it 2-2 only to see Pest Control hit the winner late in the second half.
Jeff Richardson scored twice for Devonshire All-Stars while other goals came from William (Squiggly) Benjamin, Clarkie Trott, Harrison Trott and an own gal from Anthony Amory.
