golfers in the United States going into the 1995 season, according to Golf World magazine.

Marshall is part of a nationally ranked Wake Forest team that will enter the new season with high hopes and expectations, having ended the 1994 season with a ranking of sixth which came after the team won six of their last eight tournaments.

Wake Forest were rated as high as second in the country at one stage during the fall.

"This team definitely has the talent to be at the top and they have worked extremely hard to get to this point,'' said head coach Dianne Dailey. "They proved this fall that they're capable of playing with anyone and it's no fluke the team is ranked so high.'' Marshall's contribution to the team's success last season included an eighth place finish in the Atlantic Coast Conference and three other top 20 finishes, including the NCAA East Regional which Wake Forest also won.

Her best tournament remains the NCAA East Regional in 1993 when she enjoyed her top collegiate finish of fifth (tie) and a best individual round of 70 which also helped her to a best tournament score of 220 from three rounds.

The junior missed two Wake Forest events last season because of her inclusion in Bermuda's World Amateur team, but still made a big contribution to her school with three top 10 finishes. She tied for 38th in the NCAA Championships.

Led by senior Stephanie Neill, a three-time all-American and the top ranked women's amateur golfer in the United States, and juniors Marshall and Victoria Boysen, the Deacons will start the new season in February with the Chris Johnson/Arizona Invitational at the University of Arizona. The season culminates with the NCAA Championships in Wilmington, North Carolina from May 24-27.

"We're fortunate in that we didn't lose anybody from last year because this is a close knit group,'' said Dailey. "The energy and excitement everyone felt from last year has carried over and increased our competitiveness.

"We want to win every tournament we play and the students feel as though they're capable of that. This team has a championship mentality and they're going to prove it this year.'' Kim Marshall
