"Things are starting to develop for me,'' said Mocklow on Sunday. "Hopefully this will carry some weight for me to represent Bermuda internationally in a major tournament.'' Last year, 14 players qualified from Rockville with scores of 144 or better, which is even par. "If I can shoot anything better than even par I have to have a chance,'' said Mocklow.

The past month has been kind to Mocklow who won his first pro tournament in Lakewood, New Jersey, last week. Before that he was second in the Sumter Open in Coastal Carolina after shooting 67-72--139 and then fifth in Macon, Georgia, after rounds of 69 and 72.

St. George's Golf Club pro Kim Swan is in Victoria, Canada, this week to take part in the Payless Open at the Royal Colwood Golf and Country Club.

The event, which is the first stop on the Canadian pro tour, carrys a purse of $100,000 and has been won by such big names as Australian Craig Parry who led after three rounds at this year's Masters.

Swan is expected to see action in the Pro-Am, which begins today and finishes tomorrow. The tournament proper runs from Thursday through Sunday.

Henry Ascento shot a 72 to win the last event of the 1991-92 BGA Medal Play Championship at Belmont on Saturday. Judithanne Astwood was the top woman with a round of 79.

The first round of the 1992-93 Medal Play Championship will get under way at Port Royal GC on June 13.
