Motocross points race too close to call
the Pepsi Motocross Nationals nears its zenith.
Lamel Hassell heads the expert division by a mere two points over Craig Panchaud following the last set of races at Coney Island, with Hassell at 207 total points compared to 205 for Panchaud. Wentworth Tucker stands a distant third, 40 points back at 167.
The novice section has Cavon Perinchief (172) nine points out in front of Ashley Simmons (163), followed by Enwar Hunt (157).
At the other end of the spectrum, Garry Cann possesses the largest advantage, his 22 wins having earned him a 264 total, 52 points in front of Loronzo Burch (208) among the 80 B Class.
Making a decisive move in the 80 C Class is Zico Majors (135), who jumped three places from seventh to fourth over the past four weeks, yet still trails class leader Gary Blackwell by 67 points and with precious little time remaining.
Other leaders include Zahkie McIntosh in the 65cc Class, Kellen Lewis in the 50cc Class, and Otis Ingham among the 250cc Class.
Meanwhile, Mini Warriors from Florida are expected as guest riders for the double-header race weekend of March 24-25, with Mitch Cook and Dave Oettel due for arrival, along with an unnamed 50cc rider.
