Prison Officers this week.
It was past midnight when Mike Lindo defeated Barry Rahman 21-18, 21-9 to claim the Billy Bee Trucking Challenge Cup in the deciding match of the tournament.
Lindo had earlier put OCC on the road to victory in a nail-biting encounter with Calvin Butterfield. Lindo came out on top in a 42-minute marathon of defensive choppers mixed with occasional aggression 21-11, 19-21, 22-20. At one point Lindo trailed 13-6 in the final game.
In other contests, David Waltham routed Rahman 21-7, 21-13 before becoming the second player to edge out Butterfield in three games.
Lindo and Waltham combined to beat Butterfield and Derron Trott in the doubles skirmish, although Trott later had his revenge over Lindo with an impressive 21-6, 21-12 triumph.
Trott was in fine form, also putting Calvin Burgess to flight by the same score. And he teamed up with Rahman to beat Burgess and Waltham in the second doubles encounter.
