One of the highlights of motocross action at Coney Island on Sunday was the superb riding of Aaron Pace.
He turned in an outstanding performance in the 125cc (B) class by leading the field home in the division, brushing aside challenges offered by Kemo Simons and Kyle Constable.
In the 125cc (C) class Neilson DeGraffe came away with top honours, beating out Jason DeSilva and Rodney Marshall.
While there were only two competitors in the bigger 250cc class action was still exciting with Duprey Joell sharp as ever in leading home Maceo Talbot.
Competition was extremely keen in the 80cc class where Jamel Hassell continues to develop into one of the top riders. He led the field home with a fine display ahead of Craig Panchaud and Shaki Easton.
Only two riders participated in the the 60cc class but competition was still keen between Steven Panchaud and Marice Simons -- Panchaud winning the duel.
Just one rider showed up for the Pee-Wee 80cc class with Aaron Cannonier making a fast solo run. But there was a big field in the Pee-Wee 50cc class with Gary Cann eventually getting the better of Brendan DeSilva and Jakai Bremar.
SOFTBALL SOF Commercial Softball League action on Monday saw Surface Trends hammer PALMS 20-7 with Gary Carr going 3-for-4 and Harold Aitken 4-for-5 behind winning pitcher Randy Kowch. Carhles Williams-Grant was the loser.
Terry Darrell was top hitter for the losers with a 3-for-3 appearance. PW's Wildcats defeated DeCosta's 20-14 with Al AMackinnon and Pat Donelly combining for five hits, Mackinnon going 3-for-3 and Donelly 2-for-2. Mark Ray went 3-for-3 for DeCosta's while teammate Dean Douglas went 4-for-5.
Snowballs beat M.R.Onions 17-11 as Tom Kuddirka went 4-for-4 and Blake Fizzard 3-for-4.
Bob Mason had a 3-for-4 night for M.R.Onions.
Play on Sunday saw Robin Hood defeat Artic Penguins 21-11 with Doug Hiller going 3-for-4 and Kent Smith 2-for-3.
Mark Conklin and Nick Rowse both went 3-for-4 for Penguins.
Bacardi Bats slammed Powerscourt 15-0 with Roger Cash going 4-for-4 and Robert Bulhart having a 3-for-3 night.
Centre Re scored a humiliating 47-4 victory over A.F.Smith with Mike Fress going 5-for-6 and George Hutchings 4-for-5 with two homers. Damion Tucker had a 2-for-2 at bat for the losers.
