Etchells Championships in Sydney yesterday after finishing 33rd in the fifth race.

Patton, president of Bermuda Sailing Association, was in 26th position in the 68-boat fleet following the penultimate race.

Sailing with his crew of Mike Hein and Chris Hosking in the boat Bucephalus , Patton now has a record of 25-49-4-28-33 and could improve his final placing because he is allowed to discard his worst finish.

The regatta is taking place at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.
