Pearman fends off challenge
yesterday when he won the three-round event at Ocean View by two strokes.
Going into the final round he was tied on 144 with Kim Swan, but the champion was able to brush aside Swan's spirited challenge to win it with a par round while Swan could only manage a 72.
Barry DeCouto was well placed going into the final round, one stroke behind the pair, but he faltered badly and came home third after a 79.
Pearman won with a three-round score of 214 while Swan carded 216 and DeCouto 224.
Kavon Trott was the winner of the amateur two-round net competition with a 139 to receive the yellow jacket, beating out John Kelly on 144 and Jerome Bradshaw on 145.
Honours in the gross division went to Dave Purcell with a 150, Henry Ascento was second with 152 and Glen Simmons third with 153.
The senior amateur net winner was Vance Campbell on 137 while the gross winner was Eldon Raynor on 150.
