Pearman makes his move
five-over-par 76, to win a share of the lead in the Bermuda Professional Golfers Association Championship at the Mid-Ocean Club yesterday.
After 36 holes, Pearman is tied on 149 with first-round leader Cornell Bean, of Belmont Golf Club, who carded a 78.
Derrick Douglas, of Riddell's Bay, kept himself in strong contention, just one shot off the lead, after shooting a 77.
Host professional Stephen DeCosta tied for the best round of the day with a 76 and lies in fourth place on 154. One shot further back are Duncan Zelkin and Glenn Simmons.
Bean said high winds had played havoc with shot selection: "It was really difficult with the wind the way it was and the course played really tough, much tougher than in the first round.
"Some of the par fours were very difficult to reach in two. The course was playing really long.'' The tournament continues today and wraps up tomorrow on the 6,512-yard Tucker's Town layout.
