Andy Stoneham, who last year retired from the racing scene, made a cameo appearance in Class C as pilot for Craig Burt and they emerged victorious.

Stoneham was only in action as a trial run for Burt who bought the boat from him. The pair held off Michael Araujo and Eugene Bothelo with Craig Nisbett finishing third and Mark Fuhrtz and Eddie Skater were fourth.

There were only two entries in Class B where Jason Pimental got the better of Ian Whitehead.

Class D was dominated by Patrick Stamper. He was followed by Clyde Boorman and Chris Franks.

The offshore course took the racers from buoy 22 to Clay House Inn, buoy 18 and back to Ferry Reach. There were four laps for classes C and D and three for Class B.

Closed circuit racing in the SST 45 Class saw Steve Moniz emerge as the overall winner. Scott Johnson was second with Sean Tavares third.

SWIMMING SW The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association held its first swim meet of the season on Saturday and 80 participants from the island's three swim clubs were involved.

Stephen Fahy of Harbour Club achieved triple A times in the 100 metre freestyle with a time of 58:86 and a time of 2:07:57 in the 200 metre freestyle to qualify for the Central Caribbean and Central American National Championships to be held in Cuba in August.

Also qualifying for this event was Nuri Latham from Sharks Swim Club in the 50 metre breast stroke with a triple A time of 42:43.

Today will see 11 swimmers travel to Canada with Bermuda's national coach to compete in the Waterloo International Invitational.

The next spring meet will be on Saturday, May 15, at the BASA pool starting at 1.30 p.m. during which time other swimmers will attempt to reach qualifying times for Cuba.

DARTS DRT The last round of play in the Women's Darts league saw last place Hamilton Parish defeat third place St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club (II) 5-2 in a surprise result, while BAA continued their winning streak with a 6-1 victory over BPSA.

Friday's Games: Mariners v BAA; BPSA v St. George I; EEMYC v Police East; RAA v HPWC.

SOFTBALL SOF North Village will hold a meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m. for anyone interested in playing for them.

SOCCER SOC There will be a meeting of all Paget Community Club players and anyone interested in playing next season tonight at 7 p.m. at Samaritans Hall on Cobbs Hill Road.
