Two first-half goals won the Primary School Championship for Prospect in a hard-fought final at West End yesterday.

Tumaini Steede opened the scoring in just the third minute of the match and Prospect pushed forward in search of more goals, but were foiled by a fine display by the Sound goalkeeper.

But just before half-time, George Dyer's shot from 10 yards found the net to give Prospect a two-goal cushion at the break.

Sound, coached by Vasco goalkeeper Timmy Figureido, hit back in the second half, but the Prospect defence held firm under pressure.

Each team battled to the end and there were several near misses as the players began to tire, before Prospect and their coach, Dandy Town midfielder Devon Binns, could celebrate their championship.
