Rangers, Eagles docked points
less match than the rest of the First Division, after the BFA declared their recently abandoned match null and void.
The match on November 7 at White Hill field was abandoned after fighting broke out between opposing players. Suspensions have since been handed out but the BFA decided that "in cases where the game is abandoned owing to the conduct of both teams or their organisation members, the Executive Committee shall take such action as they consider appropriate.'' In this instance the match, which was scoreless at the time, has been declared null and void and neither club will receive points for the match which will also not be replayed.
Meanwhile, the BFA have ordered Prospect to pay referee expenses and awarded Paget their first win of the season after Prospect failed to have their ground ready for a league match with Paget on November 7.
Prospect are responsible for the payment of the referee and his two assistants (which amounts to $90) after they showed up for the match only to see that the field was not prepared. Paget have been awarded the three points and a 3-0 result.
The third decision handed down recently by the association involved an Alliance Knockout match between Devonshire Colts and Dandy Town on December 20.
Colts won the match 3-1 but they fielded first team player Aljame Zuill who was serving a one-match suspension. Zuill was ineligible to play until after serving his one game suspension the following day with the Premier Division team.
Joseph Butterfield was also ineligible as his card had expired so the committee decided that Colts would forfeit the match and Town be handed the win which would advance them to the next round. The committee said no further action would be taken against the players or their club.
