Lewis will have no effect on the "indefinite'' bann previously handed down by Southampton Rangers.

Nor will it cause Lewis' own club, Dandy Town, to change their plans to deal with the player by first holding their own inquiry.

The presidents of the two clubs involved, Aldwyn Savery of Southampton and Elroy Ratteray of Dandy Town, said the Association's action would not force them to alter their own course.

"As far as we are concerned he remains suspended for an indefinite period.

There is no change whatsoever as a result of the BFA's two-year ban,'' said Savery, whose club took immediate action against Lewis after he allegedly threw a bottle onto their ground during a First Division match against Town on October 29.

According to the president, Lewis will have to appeal the sentence if Southampton are to consider changing it to a specific time period.

Ratteray said that while respecting and adhering to the BFA's ban, Dandy Town would hold their own hearing based on the findings of an inquiry headed by executive member Neville Dill.

It is understood that Town's position is that nobody actually saw Lewis throw or kick the bottle onto the field of play and consequently the matter deserves a more thorough investigation.
